Starting with the Piazza della Repubblica with the Nayads Fountain then the beautiful Piazza Barberini with Bernini's lovely Baroque Tritone Fountain, we then drive along the famous Via Veneto before arriving at the ancient Aurelian Walls which you will follow, passing the impressive Borghese park and arriving at Piazza del Popolo the northern entrance into ancient Rome with its Egyptian obelisk which dates back to the time of Ramses II. Just before arriving at St Peter's Square we will pass the massive Castel S. Angelo the ancient tomb of Emperor Hadrian. The Papal Audience will take place in St Peter's Square, or in the St Peter's Basilica or in the Audience Hall; according to seasonal conditions and the number of pilgrims involved.
